GOD

We believe there is one eternal, indivisible God who reveals Himself as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in action and regeneration (Deuteronomy 6:4; I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:4-6; Joel 2:28; 1 Timothy 3:16).

We believe the one true God took on flesh in the form of the man Jesus Christ, who was both fully God and fully man (John 1:1-3,14; Colossians 2:9).  God stepped into the world that he created, in the form of his own creation, to offer a perfect sacrifice for sin and reconcile the world unto himself (2 Corinthians 5:19).

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the God-inspired truth that offers us hope, life and spiritual direction (II Timothy 3:16).   We believe the Bible is without error and is the sole authority for both salvation and dedicated Christian living.  Just as food is essential for our physical bodies, the Bible is essential in sustaining the vitality of every believer's spiritual life (Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25).

SIN & SALVATION

Every man and woman is born, through the perpetuated sins of Adam & Eve, into a sinful nature (Romans 5:12).  While many people may not be "bad people", it does not change the fact that we are all separated from God by this sinful nature (Romans 6:23). We believe that God's desire is for everyone to be saved from receiving the wages of sin, which is eternal separation from God in the place called Hell (2 Peter 3:9).  God himself, robed in a body of flesh, died a criminal's death on the cross of Calvary to make a way for all of mankind to receive eternal life, in place of eternal death.  This salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).

We do not believe in a works-based salvation, however, we do believe that we must be obedient to what the scriptures have called us to do.  When faced with the direct question "what must we do", the Apostle Peter offered this response in Acts 2:38:
Repentance – Turning from sin with a transformed heart and mind (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38, 11:18, 17:30).
Water Baptism – By immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5; Matthew 28:19).
Baptism of the Holy Spirit – With the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4, 10:46, 19:6; Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:5).
This is the New Birth that Jesus taught Nicodemus about in John Chapter 3, and it is still relevant for us to follow today.

Life After the New Birth

When we are born again, our old life—marked by sin and separation from God—is completely transformed. We are a brand-new creation. This means that our past sins and failures are washed away by the redeeming blood of Jesus, as further affirmed in Romans 6:23, where the wages of sin are replaced by the gift of eternal life. We are no longer defined by our previous mistakes; instead, we are empowered by God’s grace to embrace a fresh start and live a life that now reflects His holiness.  After being born again, God's spirit will lead us into all truth and righteousness (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:33), and will empower us to live a life that is both pleasing to God and also one that allows us to be a witness of his transformative power to the world around us (Acts 1:8).
